If it's stubborn, a butter knife's back edge between spigot and collar makes a good prise bar.

Rinse the bag and spigot and dry before storage. Rinse again before use.

After filling, pop the spigot back in, and 'burp' any excess air.

You can save any left-over bottled wine in these, too, eliminating the air which quickly sends it downhill.

Dave ZDave Zhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13241033623115158564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3580987459140037495.post-540526240456312682014-06-27T20:18:34.918-08:002014-06-27T20:18:34.918-08:00Love this! Or you can modify and repurpose any number of plastic containers for no cost at all.

Dave ZDave Zhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13241033623115158564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3580987459140037495.post-7501603833872720142013-06-07T15:44:19.366-08:002013-06-07T15:44:19.366-08:00ARRRGH, Matey!

To contain the fruit, visit a paint store (or many good hardware stores) and look for a paint strainer bag. They come in several sizes, including one for a 5 gallon bucket, and last much longer than nylon hosiery.Samanthahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12124892891446077637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3580987459140037495.post-82080489072236324352013-06-06T19:27:41.998-08:002013-06-06T19:27:41.998-08:00Miss your wine and mead! Thinking of a warm-box to keep the starter from freezing in winter (not willing to sleep with it or carry it under our clothes 8) ).

Boat Wine IS easy. Easier, even, that Boat Beer, seems to us. And not only easy, but FUN!

Bon Bibelage!

Dave Z

Dave Zhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13241033623115158564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3580987459140037495.post-45430590317356460882013-05-28T22:59:15.215-08:002013-05-28T22:59:15.215-08:00Sound fascinating Dave. Do you make bread on board too?

I have not thought about making wine before, thinking it a bit too much like hard work, but reading your post makes me want to have a go! After all I enjoy the stuff..but not too much though!Joelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10844967794207697583noreply@blogger.com
